Historic Properties consists of three blocks of restored historic buildings on the waterfront. This is the oldest surviving group of waterfront warehouses in Canada and the Victorian-Italianate façades are particuarly noteworthy. The area has been turned into a dynamic marketplace with boutiques, restaurants, pubs and night spots. Here visitors can stroll along the boardwalk and absorb the atmosphere of the harbour and this great neighborhood.
Located at the northern end of Granville street, Granville Mall is a pedestrian street scape lined with shops, restaurants and services. The area features a plaza area with benches and a fountain.
This active fishing community perfectly fits into the east coast maritime village ideal. Explore colourful houses perched on seashore landscape, a former lighthouse-turned-post office and a shoreline comprised of boulders that have been transformed into smooth rocks by years of washing away. Be careful though -- the sea is powerful and several people have been swept away.
