The Old Burying Ground is Halifax's oldest graveyard, having been around since 1749. The oldest existing stone dates back to 1752 and belongs to 2-year-old Malachi Salter, son of a wealthy merchant. Two Nova Scotians who fought in the Crimean war are honoured with the Welsford-Parker Monument, which was erected in 1860. Several other prominent figures are also buried here. This park/outdoor museum is open from June 1 to September 30.
